Over a quarter-century ago, Ken Hanson started Hanson Graphic in a spare bedroom. Thanks to the support of a few small, ambitious clients, Ken built a reputation by delivering on a simple idea: Create design that works.
As business grew, Ken sought a partner to buoy his well-known strategic thinking and his creative approach. Tim Dodge's easy way and savvy business sense provided the perfect complement.

Oversees all visual design, ensuring the brand experience is manifested throughout all work.
Ken's 25 years of interactive and graphic design experience and countless industry awards have earned him a reputation as one of the nation's leading marketing communication designers. More than a gifted artist, Ken is also a superb strategist and marketing practitioner with a passion for building brand equity and loyalty for clients. He founded the studio in 1980 and continues to oversee creative direction for both interactive and print projects. Ken founded the Wisconsin chapter of the American Institute of Graphic Arts (AIGA).
Responsible for new business development, strategic services and management of the firm.
As a partner in the firm and its president, Tim is actively involved in managing the growth of both our business and that of our clients. Tim also is involved in the national APDF (Association of Professional Design Firms), AIGA (American Institute of Graphic Artists) and YPO (Young Presidents' Organization). In addition, he serves on several charitable boards, including the Milwaukee Youth Symphony Orchestra, Catholic Charities Foundation and Dominican High School.
Responsible for the agency’s strategy and business development with oversight of agency growth and client services.
To make an impact on the agency and her clients’ business in an increasingly digital world, Sara draws upon her more than 16 years of marketing and communications experience in advising global brands. Her underlying passion for analytics and measurable outcomes helps to define her role as a results-oriented digital thinker. Her passion for the active lifestyle and outdoor pursuits has taken her to five continents. When she isn’t advancing HDC, Sara is a sought-after keynote speaker and acts as the co-chair of the Betty Brinn Children’s Museum Gala. Sara has been recognized in the Milwaukee Business Journal’s Forty under 40 class of 2010.
Responsible for the oversight and advancement of strategic marketing of the agency overall to propel growth by delivering a deep brand experience of our work, culture and people.
With over 14 years’ experience in building brands through rich storytelling and strategy, Al has been nationally recognized as a leader in leveraging social media and digital strategies for business. Al focuses his efforts on providing strategic insights that bring brands to life online in new and exciting ways that result in legions of Brand Champions. His personal competitive endeavors in endurance sports add a lot of value too. Al is a frequent speaker and acts as co-chair of PRSA Milwaukee Chapter’s Social Media Committee and as a board member of the Eisner Creative Foundation. Al was recently honored as part of the Milwaukee Business Journal’s Forty under 40 class of 2010.
Dan has been transforming brand strategies and communication goals into creative concepts
for digital and traditional media for over 10 years at HDC. For nearly all of
those years, he has been applying the latest technologies to design
solutions. His expertise spans from large-scale web design systems to complex
user interface design and interaction design. He has also focused on video
direction, motion graphics design for interactive video and large-scale
communication projects. Accounts he has attended to include Trek Bicycle,
Thule, Wisconsin Department of Tourism and many other regional, national and
international brands. Dan graduated from UWM with a degree in Architecture.
Responsible for setting the overall vision, direction and delivery for interactive technology at Hanson Dodge Creative.
Nick has more than 10 years of interactive marketing technology experience, translating business needs into technology solutions.
Guides the HDC Client Services team in branding and communication strategy and all aspects of client relationship management.
With 16 years in agency client services—including more than a decade in functional leadership and executive roles—Mike brings a wealth of experience in brand strategy, communications strategy and solution design to client relationships and programs. Over the course of his career, Mike has led nearly 60 branding or rebranding engagements for clients representing a wide variety of industries. His client management experience includes Briggs & Stratton, GE Capital TEMS, Caterpillar Financial, Brady Corporation and ThoughtWorks. He serves as an officer on the national board of directors for the Business Marketing Association.
Oversees the creation and implementation of e-marketing and e-commerce strategies and programs, incorporating search engine optimization, email marketing, social marketing optimization, user experience, affiliate marketing and interactive advertising components. Rick has more than 13 years' experience in developing e-marketing programs and traditional marketing services and tactics.
Walter is responsible for the
ongoing maturity of the Hanson Dodge Creative Project Management Office (PMO),
the integrity of all projects and the ongoing development of the PMO team. Walter has been managing projects, leading business analysis efforts, using and developing project management tools and advancing project technologies for over
20 years. Walter is a certified by the Project Management Institute (PMI) as a
Project Management Professional (PMP), has served as a level-3 mentor for the Southeastern
Wisconsin PMI chapter and has been invited to speak on project management
topics at conferences and at other companies. Walter has direct experience
managing, and bringing in on budget and on time, multi-million dollar projects with
teams over 50 people. Walter is also one of our certified HDC yoga instructors.
