Ken Hanson, founder and CEO of Hanson Dodge Creative, will join a panel discussion this Thursday, Oct. 25, at the Milwaukee Institute of Art and Design (MIAD) that will examine the changing attitudes and approaches of marketing since the post-war years.
The event, which is free and open to the public, will take place at 7 p.m. in the MIAD Brooks Stevens Gallery, 273 E. Erie St. The panel discussion is one of several Gallery Talks planned over the next several months to showcase the new MIAD exhibition, “Designing Desire: The Cultural Effects of Marketing.” The exhibition runs from Oct. 8 through Feb. 9, 2013 and explores marketing’s influence on creating, promoting and perpetuating cultural norms and its social impact on specific groups of people.
Hanson will be part of a four-member panel moderated by MIAD Chair of 2D/3D Design Phil Belair. Other panelist include Jean Grow, Marquette University associate professor and director of the University fine arts minor; Mark Catterson, executive creative director at HY Connect; and Dan Augustine, art director at Noise Inc.
