Sara Meaney, Hanson Dodge Creative president of strategy and growth, will be among three featured speakers at a workplace wellness event sponsored by The Alliance on the morning of Thursday, Jan. 26 at the Monona Terrace Community and Convention Center in Madison.
The Alliance is an employer-owned, not-for-profit cooperative of more than 160 members that self-fund their health benefit programs and provide health insurance coverage to more than 83,000 individuals in southern Wisconsin, Illinois and Iowa. The event is part of The Alliance Learning Circles series, which seeks to educate members about the latest strategies and tactics to improve their wellness programs.
Meaney’s presentation, “Making Wellness a Social Cause: How to Leverage Social Media to Motivate and Mobilize Employees Toward Healthy Choices,” will focus on relevant trends and insights to consider as employers build and grow their worksite wellness programs.
“Social media platforms support the many communication needs of an active lifestyle,” said Meaney. “Companies need to embrace these new tools as they provide additional means of creating supportive, engaged employee communities, and they offer the management tools to deliver and sustain the activities that lead to a healthier employee population.”
Meaney has more than 15 years of marketing and communications experience advising global brands with an expertise in integrated marketing communications and technology. At Hanson Dodge Creative, she oversees the agency’s strategy and business development efforts, with ultimate responsibility for agency growth and client services. In her previous role with HDC, Meaney was responsible for the organizational development, maturity and growth of the social media and public relations practice and its programs, helping clients to make their mark in an increasingly technology-driven world.
