Marquette University, a Jesuit Catholic university in Milwaukee promoting excellence, faith, leadership and service, wanted to raise interest, build awareness and create a new image to position them as a leading Jesuit college and a world-class academic institution to increase enrollment.

Approach

To build a new image for Marquette, HDC conducted extensive interviews and focus groups to understand their current brand, share aspirations for the future and create a compelling message to bring more students to campus. We discovered that underneath its world-class learning institution image, Marquette had a truly friendly, smart and seriously fun approach to education and learning that previously had not come through in its marketing materials.

Solution

HDC created an integrated marketing campaign, a detailed brand platform and a new look, identity and stylebook to create a cohesive communication strategy across the university. An “I See Me” approach showcasing Marquette professors and students who epitomized the new brand helped reinvigorate the Marquette image and bring the university more to life than ever.

Results

By creating an engaging brand strategy and identity, Marquette experienced a 40% enrollment increase year-over-year.
